not really.
Mostly I'm just back to work. 5 people died while i was away. I walk by their rooms and yet another person is there. A new face. One lady is blind and her husband comes to see her everyday, he takes her on her walks around the halls and prays and sings while he walks her. He often tells us that their still on their honeymoon ( i think it's been at least 50 years of honeymooning) as he steers her in the right direction. He washed her eyelids every day so they wont get infected. And brings a bag lunch so he can eat with her everyday. They keep me smiling.
Actually it doesn't take much to make me smile right now...much to the delight of the staff around the hospital.
So life just keeps rolling along. It is fall though so i am gearing up for pumpkin pie and andi's baby. Can't wait to meet the new little one. I get to watch the 3 boys while she's in the hospital so that will be an exciting time:)
And, this is very exciting, I am a bridesmaid in my friend Kayla's wedding. I am so excited and blessed to know her and share in her day.

this is the tell
first off I'd like to say I asked Ken for permission to blog about him. So now I get to talk about how this all came about and maybe not have to tell the same story 100 times...maybe just once:)
So we have been writing for over a year...just friends. That whole saga is quite funny-but I told him he has to write me more than once a month now...I can do that cause I'm his girlfriend:)
So, here it goes...
I got to Singapore and found out he had already gone to bed (later i found out he was advised not to go because i would feel gross...so thoughtful:) but I gotta say i was so nervous I didn't sleep that night. That nite I was wondering what i had done...who invites some guy to go to where her parents and sister live for 10 days...who does that! But despite all my last minute nerves and the fact that I was blessed with Mount Olympus on my face (a pimple, a huge one) the first few days went so well. I have to confess i don't remember them very clearly i just remember thinking that my parents were liking him way too much and he still hadn't said anything yet. Day four, I was talking about my trip to Africa where i wanted to be a nun and start an orphanage ( back in the day:) and he said he could picture it...I pretty much thought right then that I was hooped, guys who can see you as nuns generally aren't interested in a relationship.
But at that point I decided that he was very nice and we were having fun so if nothing else came of this, at least we were friends. And then we visited my sister and her fam, can i just say that seeing him being so kind to my nephews and nieces-he even built them a sandbox-was probably that hardest because as far as i knew, he thought i would make a great nun. DANG!
But we got back to Singapore and went to the Botanical gardens and decided to sit down on a park bench and all of a sudden he was bringing up conversations and topics that were definitely surprising. I was hyperventilating and calm and excited and terrified all at the same time.
So thats it, I am somebody's girlfriend and one thing I definitely know about him is he is brave (coming over to singapore and staying with my family...). Right now he is climbing in the alps and I just finished my first shift back at work. Long distance here we come.

Trippy, Trip Trip
The zoo for the vision impaired...
planes...
the girls wanted Ken to take pictures of them and then they could look at them. I have never seen Hannah so excited to be photographed before.
the Indian Ocean. It has been 4 years since the Tsunami and Maf pilots found out that some of the guys working for them hadn't been back into the ocean until this past year...The waves were great and the only downside was I had to swim in all my clothes because of the community around and modesty...my capri's kept dragging me down...it was a gong show-thank goodness for swimsuits.

Lake Toba
The largest lake in Indonesia. We had a full day of lay-over trying to get from Singapore to Melabo-where Carissa lives. So off we went on a little adventure. I didn't look nice in any of the speedboat pictures but here is Ken doing his favorite thing and I look great so up goes the picture:)
It has been super fun:) and I am enjoying a moment in the AC and of course blogging. So far in singapore we have hit the Singapore Zoo and the Nite Safari as well as Orchard Road, Chinatown a buddist temple and little India. Not to mention the food courts and the MRT. We pretty muched walked all of Singapore it feels like. Today the men are building a sandbox for Carissa's kids and i am blogging, go team...

life
my parents left on monday so I decided to take the day to recouperate-which for me means taking out the trusty soduko book and playing settlers on the computer for hours on end...got company at 9pm and we stayed up and chatted till almost midnite and then I came to work for 12 today and locked myself out of my house and now am going home...
ps my landlord said she has never had a tennant loose a key before and this is my second time doing it in 1 month...
ps work was a bit over my head today...i couldn't seem to grasp anything...
ps a friend called me and then my cell phone died in the middle of a convo...
so now there is only 15 more minutes and I get to have tea and go to sleep...and then come back to the gong show tomorrow...eeeks
i just had to page that visiting hours are over...right in front of visitors...so lame...but I guess I can take one for the team...
go team.
