so we are celebrating my friend Alex's birthday...IN COARSEGOLD!
We went up to Yosemite and it snowed; beautiful but we couldn't see that much. But we did put on chains and that was an adventure I will spare you...
Right now we are getting ready for a bbq at Alex's house...I think all of california is coming...we are reminiscing and decided to listen to songs we recorded on Alex's computer in Manila when we were on shift...Alex and Kayla's "Floating down the Pasig River" coming soon to a radio near you...
anyway, it has been tons of fun and of course trips to Target and getting salt and vinegar chips...Tomorrow we head to San Fransisco...cable cars and golden gate here we come...
PS...we talk alot and cry and just talk and talk...it has been good...all that emotional cleansing...does a body good.

valentines day and my pinky
so i worked today...it was a gong show...as in 50 people got admitted to the hospital...maybe not 50...
Anyway then i came home and I knew Andi would like me to hang with her cause she has had 5 boys 5 and under for the past two days...so we took a walk downtown with all 5 boys...can i just say that there is not much I can do when my 3 year old nephew comes up to me in his oversized snowsuit that makes him look like a giant marshmellow and demands, "hold me". 7 blocks later I am still holding...
but being as he is the one that I can't look most of the time without him bellowing 'No', he is definitely not a morning person. I take what I can get from him...but holding him is kind of better cause when I put him down I had to prod and beg him to actually move. And then made the mistake of letting him have a stick...boys and sticks...sheesh...
and then tonight was 2 hours with 3 week old Charlotte Bonney...where I discovered the importance of my pinky. It was my only trick...and I used it. She was too smart for walking and rocking it was all about the pinky.
So thats valentines day, my back is sore and my pinky lost a layer of skin and I ate the entire box of chocolates my nephews gave me thru the course of the day...they give it to you on valentines day-is it my fault if I think it should be ingested on that day as well????
Here's to chocolate and actually eating it!
happy valentines day...

news...
-in a few weeks I am going on a trip...and I saw the hotel where we will be staying and I am soooo super excited.
-also sang in the choir today
-it has been -40C and -20C but still very very cold for going on 10 days...enough already!
-I walked to work (about 1 mile) in minus 40 with only hospital pants on(so i proofread this part and I just have to say that I was wearing a coat and gloves and a hat and scarf but all that I had on the bottom was flimsy hospital scrubs)...can i say I think i could have broken off chunks of my thighs by the time I got to work but I didn't try...that would have hurt even more
-got called to babysit for friends on valentines day...thanks...it's the thought that counts! and apparently it is common knowledge that I have nothing better to do with my life than hold the fort while others fan the flame....
-my favorite lady in the hospital had some steller moments this week and made my shifts so fun...ok so it's funny when a very proper and cute old lady starts walking into the hallway with her pants down asking for a pantyliner...(largest pantyliner I ever saw!!!!)
-I ran about 5 k's....I am training for a marathon with my mother currently she is about 10 k's ahead of me but I was pretty excited just to hit the 5 k mark...
-thats about it.

life
This week I worked at the hospital alot. There is one patient who always makes me laugh. She must be about 80 and has dementia but she is a hoot. One day I walked in to give her new water and she promptly informed me that she would like lemon in that. And chlorophyl as well. I told her I would see what I could do and walked out laughing. Today I went in to see how she was handling and she promptly informed me that I had missed her strip tease! And then she asked if I knew what that meant! I told her I did, and began to pick up the laundry that was strewn around the room. I couldn't help laughing and she asked me what was so funny....seriously...
She always has something to say, breakfast made her feel like 10 sheets to the wind...(I have no idea what that means!)
And bath time is especially funny, she refused to get in the tub because she said it wasn't the one she remembered using last time...but it was the same tub! But she kept saying she remembered a different one and then said that it must be the one in the morge; and we all agreed she wasn't ready for that one yet so she did finally get into the tub. The only tub.
so thats work, and I am enjoying it.
